I ripped this off from Perry Noble.  Ask yourself the following questions:

#1 – Am I loving “social networking” more than Jesus?

#2 – Am I loving my particular brand of theology more than Jesus?

#3 – Am I loving my particular worship style more than Jesus?

#4 – Am I loving my platform more than Jesus?

#5 – Am I loving attention more than Jesus?

#6 – Am I loving facilities more than Jesus?

#7 – Am I loving opportunities more than Jesus?

#8 – Am I loving ritual more than Jesus?

#9 – Am I loving success more than Jesus?

#10 – Am I loving the ministry more than Jesus?

Basically…am I loving ANYONE or ANYTHING more than Jesus!

ENGAGE is a one day student conference designed to encourage, challenge, and motivate students to spread the good news of Christ. Our sole purpose of existence is so that students who are far from God can experience life in Christ.

This year at Engage we will be talking through the “Power of Prayer” and the impacts it can have on our lives. If we just took a few minutes to pray each day. Boldly. Unashamed. Humbly. Powerfully. What could happen if we just asked God to intervene in our lives and our situations.

ENGAGE will be held on August 15th: 10:00am – 7:00pm @ Barber Middle School in Acworth, GA. Directions can be found here.

ENGAGE is geared towards students in grades 6-12.

Please register you and/or your student ministry here to get your tickets and confirm your attendance.

Ticket price is FREE! ($5 lunch charge at check-in on day of Conference per student).

Our worship/production team is amazing!  They did an incredible job of leading us this past Sunday to understand and experience what it means to worship God.

I am extremely proud of them and the way that God is using them to help people that are far from God to experience life in Christ!  It is crazy to me how much talent is contained on our stage.  However, the awesome thing about them is that they desire to honor God.  They get that it is about so much more than looking & sounding good.

Great job guys!  Thanks so much for partnering with us to reach this city!!

Sunday is going to be incredible as we continue the Rebel series.  Don’t miss out!  See you there at 9:30 or 11:00!!

1.  I had a great holiday weekend!  It was very relaxing.

2.  Still no baby:(  We scheduled an induction for Friday, unless Presley arrives on her own.

3.  Hard to believe that Manny served a 50 game suspension and still was back before the All Star game.  That’s a pretty good indication that the baseball season is too long.

4.  If you missed Freedom yesterday, you missed it!  It was a great Sunday.

5.  Nothing like living with the anticipation that a baby could be here any minute.

6.  Planning a party for the Guest Services crew on July 16.   It’s going to be the jam!

Here are a few of my thoughts about the recent death of the King of Pop:

1.  He was unbelievably talented.  No one can question that.

2.  He was the Elvis of my generation. He will be greatly missed.

3.  Personal issues can trump talent and ability.  He is either known by people for 1 of 2 reasons:  His musical ability or his family and personal issues.

4.  His life is a reminder to me of a couple of things:

a.  Money can’t fix everything.

b.  Be careful who you hang out with.  All weekend long I have heard about how he died deep in debt because the people around him took advantage of him.

5.  Life is short.  Make it count…shmon!

We serve a powerful God.  There’ s no question about that.

After all, He created the universe.  He makes the sun come up every morning.  He even defeated death!

One of the things that I’m being reminded of constantly is that SAME POWER lives in me!  As a follower of Christ, I can handle any situation because of that promise.

Struggling with sin…the same power lives in you!

Big decisions to make…the same power lives in you!

Health issues…the same power lives in you!

Relationship problems…the same power lives in you!

God is trustworthy!  Look to Him, no matter what your current situation is like.  He will bring you through!

In one sentence, what would you want people to say about you after you die?

Morbid thought.  Great question.  Let me hear it!

Randomness

1. My goal this weekend: Don’t do much of anything.
2. Kind of hoping that the Majic win the series but not sure if it’ll happen. Either way, I don’t really care.
3. Presley will be here in less than a month. That is insane!
4. It will be interesting to see the adjustments that need to be made with 3 kids. Should be fun!
5. I can’t wait for Sunday. The Awakening series is going to continue to be awesome. Will I see you there?
6. We did some planning for the upcoming series. It’s gonna be unbelievable!
7. Have a great weekend! Hang out with your family, date your wife, and chill out a little!

I have recently had a couple of people say to me, “I’m dreading going to work today. Just have to go put in the hours and get the paycheck.” I’ve been there. I’ve had a job that I hated and it was a chore to get out of bed to get to work.

That is certainly not the case now. There has not been a day when I have not been excited about the privilege of working at Freedom. I get the opportunity to serve with a great team at a great church.  I’m loving life!

In the words of Kris Kross… this is what ‘I was born to do!’  Doing anything else would be ‘wiggity wiggity wiggity wack!’
