That’s Funny

1.  We will literally be having a baby any day now.  I can’t wait for Presley’s arrival.

2.  Brayden has discovered video games.  He can’t wait for me to get home each day to play Mario Kart on Wii.

3.  I had a great Father’s day!  I got to spend 1/2 the day at Freedom and the other half with the people I love the most.  Doesn’t get much better than that!

4.  We took some time to Shoot the Hooch on Saturday.  7 of us tubed 6 1/2 miles down the Chattahoocee River.  It was extremely relaxing.  However, everyone was quite red and very hungry after 6 hours on the river.

5.  We are probably getting ready to buy a new car soon.  We’ll probably get something a little better equipped to handle 3 kids.  We’ll sell my Grand Am, which has no AC.  That won’t make me very sad:)

6.  The stage set-up for our Rebel series is SWEEEEET!  It involved motorcycles and a steel cage.  Very nice look!

Randomness

1.  As you read this, I’m away with my wife for a couple of days.  Presley will be here very soon and this will be our last opportunity to get out of town for a couple of days for a while.

2.  Big thanks to Madi and Ali for taking care of Brayden and Anniston while we are gone.  It is great to be able to leave town with full confidence that your kids are taken care of.

3.  Watch this.  You’ll be amazed.  I still can’t believe what I just saw.  I wish I could adopt this guy!

4.  Baptisms this Sunday… don’t miss out!

5.  The College Group that I lead is rockin’.  Every week there are new faces and I love hanging out with those guys/girls.

6.  Started Weight Watchers a few weeks ago and I’m currently in a zone when it comes to weight loss.  If you want to lose weight, go sign up for Weight Watchers online immediately.

7.  Fathers’ Day at Freedom is going to be insane!  Make plans to get every male (and female too) there.  You don’t want them to miss it!

1.  This week has been crazy.  I never like taking Monday off.  My whole week is confusing after that.

2.  I introduced Brayden to the Wii this week.  Now that’s all he wants to do.  It is hilarious to hear him celebrate after he wins a game.

3.  Awakening.  This Sunday.  Be there!

4.  Anniston decided that it was time to cut her hair today.  Oops!

5.  I don’t have a ton of stuff going on this weekend.  I can’t wait to chill a little!

1.  Played a little golf on Friday for the first time in 3 years.  I felt good about how I hit the ball.  Going to play again this Friday!

2.  Hung out with some great Freedom partners on Friday night.

3.  Joni’s parents called and asked if they could take the kids for a couple of days.  I had to think about that for a total of .0004 seconds.  It was nice just to hang out with Joni without the kids for a couple of days.  Thanks David and Brenda!

4.  Went up to Oakleaf on Saturday night.  Their new building is awesome!  They are doing a great job of reaching people in Cartersville that are far from God!!

5.  Also watched the UFC fight Saturday night.  It was a good card.  Highlight of the night was watching this guy(who was there by himself) go crazy when Rashad Evans got knocked out.  I’ve never seen someone so excited!

6.  Sunday was a great day at Freedom!  My pastor took a much deserved and needed Sunday off.

7.  Sunday night, Joni and I went to dinner.  We were home by 9:30, despite the fact we didn’t have our kids to worry about.  Does this mean we are getting old?

8.  I spent most of Memorial Day cleaning our carpets and doing some other small things around the house.  We rearranged some furniture.  Brayden wanted to know when we were going to put the stuff back where it belongs.

9.  On Sunday morning, Brayden freaked out when he found out he couldn’t go to Freedom.  He was seriously upset!  Part of me wanted to spank him for causing a scene.  However, the other part of me was proud of him for loving Freedom so much!

10.  I bought more clothes this weekend than I ever have at one time for myself.  11 shirts.  1 pair of shorts.  1 pair of jeans.  And a pair of swimming trunks.

1.  I’ve been hanging in S.C. for the past couple of days with my family.  Good to spend some time hanging with them!

2.  There is a baby shower for Presley tomorrow.  Thanks in advance for all the free stuff.

3.  Joni got some good news this week.  No more visits to the specialist!

4.  Going to watch my dad play softball tonight.  Didn’t even know he did such things.

5.  My parents have a new dog named Baxter.  Pretty sure he licks someone in the face every 3.2 seconds.

6.  It’s been great to catch up with some old friends.  Big things happening in their lives!

7.  It’s been cool to get away for a few days.  I’ve done absolutely nothing!

8.  It’s been fun but I can’t wait for Freedom on Sunday!  Be there!!

1.  Bought a dresser for Presley this weekend.  I put it together myself and no one got hurt!

2. My sleeping schedule was all jacked up this weekend.  I took a couple of naps (which I don’t normally do) which led to me being up til 2am putting together furniture on Friday night.  I think I’m back on schedule.

3.  Had dinner at Dolce at Atlantic station with Joni for our anniversary.  Great food and atmosphere!

4.  Also went to see Obsessed.  Intense movie!

5.  Freedom was awesome yesterday!  We had more people begin a relationship with Jesus.  That’s why we do what we do!!

6.  Our partners never cease to amaze me!  Yesterday, they spent some time removing scuff marks (and there were tons of them from a play over the weekend) from the floor.  Why?  So that people far from God might experience life in Christ!!

7.  There is seriously no job I would rather have than the one I have now!!

8.  We hooked the moms up with some really cool watches!

1.  Kind of a low key weekend planned.  Not a ton of stuff going on but some relaxation!

2.  You don’t want to miss Freedom Church on Sunday.  I can’t wait!

3.  On Tuesday, Joni and I will celebrate 8 years of marriage.  That means she has put up with me for all that time.  God help her!

4.  That means I have a hot date on Saturday night to celebrate!

5.  If you want more accountability to go to the gym, get your kids excited about going.  This is helping me to get in an extra day of cardio.

6.  I am pretty mad at Manny.  How can you think you can get away with steroid use when that is all that is talked about?  Since I am a Dodger fan, I want to believe he is innocent but pretty sure he isn’t!

7.  Planning on spending some time relaxing and reading this afternoon!

I Made a Mistake…

I did something that I probably shouldn’t have done.  I knew better.  I did it anyway because I was curious.

I watched the Dove awards a few days ago.  If you don’t know what those are, congratulate yourself.  The Dove Awards are the Christian grammys.  I will confess that I listen to very little Christian music because most of it comes across as lame to me.  The Dove Awards reinforced that belief.

Here are a few thoughts:

1.  The production was not good.  There were many awkward moments for presenters, etc.  In my opinion, it wasn’t done with excellence.

2.  Christian music hasn’t changed in the past 10 years.  I felt that they did a poor job of highlighting new artists.  Is there anyone else out there other than Third Day, Steven Curtis Chapman, and Sandy Patty?

3.  Sandy Patty was a nominee for Artist of the Year.  Seriously?

4.  I know it is the 10 year anniversary of ‘I Can Only Imagine’ but can we just retire the song please?

5.  The one redeeming factor for me was watching Steven Curtis Chapman sing about his daughter that was tragically killed last year.  My eyes were sweating during that part:)

Weekend Recap…

1.  Bought a new grill (to cook on, not for my teeth) on Friday.  I had my old one since Joni and I got married, almost 9 years ago.  It was time for it to be retired!

2.  I checked one thing off my to-do-list that had been there since December.  It’s frustrating waiting on someone else to do their part.

3.  On Saturday, we had a huge yardsale.  I love making some money for stuff that I would otherwise throw away.  However, at the end of the day, I want it gone.  I don’t like putting it back in my garage.

4.  I had a hot date on Saturday night.  I love spending time alone with Joni.  It keeps our marriage healthy.

5.  Freedom was unbelievable on Sunday!  The music was rocking and J.R.’s message was intense but a great reminder about how seriously God takes sin.  It made me want to make sure I am being a person of integrity.

6.  Funniest thing I have seen in a very long time:  Austin Arnett slipping, falling, and rolling down the truck ramp.  It took me 3 minutes to stop laughing long enough to check on him.

7.  Sunday night, I cleaned out my garage.  I sometimes can take my OCDness to a whole new level.

8.  Watched my kids play with the waterhose.  It’s amazing how much fun they can have doing stuff like that.
