Randomness

1.  Things were jumping last week at Freedom Church.  We had our 2nd largest attendance ever!

2.  We also had 9 people Accept Christ.  That’s something to celebrate!!

3.  Our church turns 2 years old on Jan. 31.  In one sense, it seems like we’ve been doing this forever.  In other ways, it seems like we started last week.

4.  Date night tonight!  I. Can’t. Wait!

5.  Make sure you are at Freedom Church this Sunday!  You will want to kick yourself in the face if you miss it!

I am realizing more than ever that sin leads us to waste the opportunities that God has given to us.  What would happen if we didn’t give in to the temptations that we face and listened to God?

So often, I think we waste our time telling people ‘don’t do this’ or ‘don’t do that’ .  What if we spent that time casting vision to them?  What if we spent more time helping people to realize that God’s preferred future is so much better than any temporary pleasure that they could have.

1.  On Jan. 31, Freedom Church will celebrate our 2 Year Anniversary!!  All the things that God has done since our launch have blown my mind.  I am so grateful!!

2.  Freedom Church will be hosting a 50s party for partners on Jan. 24th at Sparkles Skating rink.  I can’t wait to see everyone in their 50s attire.   It is going to be great!!

3.  Clemson had a big win against UNC this week.  The basketball program has really put itself on the map over the past few years.

4.  We are praying for 100 people to Accept Christ during the Come Home series.  Join us in praying and invite someone to come to church with you!!

5.  I am so ready for spring!

6.  My TV died this week.  I have wanted a new one for 5 years but have been too cheap to spring for a new one.  I was so excited that I went out after work and bought  a new one that day.

1.  I’m baaaaack!!! I really enjoyed the blogging break but I’m ready to get back at it!

2.  I’ve been sick for about the last week and a half.  Finally went to the doctor on Thursday.  He took one look inside my ears and said, ‘oh my’.  Turns out that I have a double ear infection.  Therefore, I can barely hear and I feel like I’m screaming everytime I talk to someone.

3.  Tigers play Boston College today.  Let’s go Tigers!!  I’m in full college basketball mode since football is over.

4.  I think they should spend more time talking about global freezing than global warming.  It’s freezing outside!

5.  Don’t miss the kick-off of the Come Home series tomorrow!  Refuse to come to church alone.  See you at 9:45 and 11:15!

1.  Staff Christmas Party tonight.  It shall be fun!

2.  I wrote 3 posts for this blog to be published this week.  Somehow they disappeared.  That doesn’t make Todd very happy

3.  If you missed last Sunday, you need to make sure to listen to the podcast of Pastor J.R.’s message from this past Sunday.  It was incredible!!

4.  C.J. Spiller should have gotten an invite to N.Y., as a Heisman finalist.  I feel like he at least earned that.  How in the world is a DT a finalist?

5.  The next few months at Freedom are going to be HUGE!  I can’t wait!!

6.  Begin now praying what God would have you give for the gift offering on Christmas Eve.  Joni and I are making a big sacrifice.  Why?  So that people far from God can experience life in Christ in 2010!!

7.  Christmas is my favorite time of the year.  I love the madness!

1.  I am running a 5k tomorrow.  My goal is under 32:30, which would be a personal best.

2.  Some extremely generous person purchased tires for my car this week.  I was really confused when a guy from the tire store called me.  I am very very grateful for the anonymous person who purchased them.  Did I say I was grateful?

3.  I am headed to Clemson tomorrow for the last home game of the season.  If they win tomorrow, they will play for the ACC championship against Ga. Tech.  Go Tigers!!

4.  I don’t really understand all of the New Moon hype.  Josh made some really funny comments about things he would rather do than watch New Moon.

5.  Make sure you are at Freedom for the final week of Hide and Seek.  It is going to be bueno!!!

1.  Ran a 5k on a treadmill this morning.  First distance run that I have done since I ran a 1/2 marathon in February.  Time – 32:30, which is my 2nd fastest ever!

2.  I’m going to the FSU/Clemson game tomorrow.  If the Tigers can win out, they are ACC Title game bound.  Go Tigers!

3.  I really feel like God is about to do something that is going to blow our minds at Freedom Church.  I am extremely grateful for what has happened over the past 21 months but I believe we ‘ain’t seen nothing yet’!

4.  God is stretching me in some great ways!  I desire to always be teachable and doing what it takes to move forward.

5.  Don’t miss this Sunday as we continue the Hide and Seek series.  It has been really powerful so far.  See you at 9:30 or 11:00!!

I was at the gym doing some cardio this morning when I saw this news story.  I couldn’t hear what they were talking about so I googled it.

Seems to me that some people are upset about the Penn St. ‘White Out’ shirt.  I can’t tell if it is Christian people who are upset because this shirt resembles a cross or if non-religious people are upset for the same reason. It is probably the religious people. They usually have a way of making a big deal about nothing, instead of doing something that actually matters.

Either way, I think it is ridiculous that there is a so-called ‘controversy’ over a t shirt.  People seem to make such a big deal over every little thing.  My favorite quote from the story is, ‘Are we going to ban all of the lower-case t’s in the alphabet?’  (Nice!)

However, I guess their strategy works.  It’s got me blogging about it:)

1.  Make sure you are at Freedom Church at 9:30 or 11:00!  We’ll conclude the Forgiveness: The Real F Word series.

2.  Not only do you need to be there, you need to invite your friends and family to be there also.

3.  I decided not to go to the Clemson game tomorrow. Decided to stay home and rest a little.  This has been a very busy week and I’m exhausted!

5.  We are adding something this Sunday to make the Next Steps easier and more obvious for the people at Freedom.

6.  Hoping the Dodgers can whip the Phillies and make it to the World Series.  Also hoping the Tigers and Dolphins pull out wins!

7.  Had dinner with some great Freedom partners last night.  Doing the same tonight!  It amazes me to see the people that God has brought to Freedom!

1.  Pumped about the BRAND NEW SERIES that begins on Sunday – Forgiveness: The Real F Word.  I really believe that this series is going to be our greatest ever!  So many people are going to be set free!!  Make sure to be at Barber Middle at 9:30 or 11:00!!

2.  Watched Kimbo Slice fight on TUF this week.  His fight wasn’t impressive, however, I am impressed with the dude.  With a little coaching, I think he could tear through some people.

3.  We are in the process of overhauling the Guest Services area at Freedom.  Changes to come (prob around first of 2010)!  We are taking honoring our guests to a whole new level!!

4.  I am seriously in awe of the team that God has assembled at Freedom!  Extremely grateful!!

5.  Clemson play at Maryland tomorrow.  They’d better destroy the Turtles!

6.  Is it really October already??
