Freedom Church

Our worship/production team is amazing!  They did an incredible job of leading us this past Sunday to understand and experience what it means to worship God.

I am extremely proud of them and the way that God is using them to help people that are far from God to experience life in Christ!  It is crazy to me how much talent is contained on our stage.  However, the awesome thing about them is that they desire to honor God.  They get that it is about so much more than looking & sounding good.

Great job guys!  Thanks so much for partnering with us to reach this city!!

Baptisms…

This Sunday, we are closing the Awakening series with a party!  We’ll be celebrating with the people that have Accepted Christ in the past few months.  We are praying for over 50 people to be baptized.  This will be a huge, significant day in the life of our church.

If you would like to be baptized, shoot and email over to corey@freedomlive.net!  He’ll get you hooked up with the details.

If you’ve already been baptized, come and enjoy the party.  I can assure you that you’ve never seen a baptism like this one!

Awakening

Without a doubt, this is going to be the greatest series in the brief history of our church.  Invite everyone you know.  Scratch that, even invite people you don’t know.  You don’t want them to miss out on what God is going to do during this series!

See you Sunday!!

1.  Bought a dresser for Presley this weekend.  I put it together myself and no one got hurt!

2. My sleeping schedule was all jacked up this weekend.  I took a couple of naps (which I don’t normally do) which led to me being up til 2am putting together furniture on Friday night.  I think I’m back on schedule.

3.  Had dinner at Dolce at Atlantic station with Joni for our anniversary.  Great food and atmosphere!

4.  Also went to see Obsessed.  Intense movie!

5.  Freedom was awesome yesterday!  We had more people begin a relationship with Jesus.  That’s why we do what we do!!

6.  Our partners never cease to amaze me!  Yesterday, they spent some time removing scuff marks (and there were tons of them from a play over the weekend) from the floor.  Why?  So that people far from God might experience life in Christ!!

7.  There is seriously no job I would rather have than the one I have now!!

8.  We hooked the moms up with some really cool watches!

It seems that one word seems to come to mind over and over the past few weeks…. gratitude.  I am realizing that I have so much to be thankful for.  God has been rocking my world and reminding that He has blessed me in such tremendous ways.

Here’s just a few:

a.  I have a relationship with the Creator of the Universe.  (Ok…I could just stop there.)

b. He has blessed me with an incredible wife and kids (and another on the way!).

c.  He’s allowing me to be  a part of what He is doing at Freedom.  I’m thankful to be a part of a church where lifechange happens on a weekly basis.  God is really doing something special in Acworth, GA!

d.  He’s blessed me by giving me incredible friends and family.  I love doing life with these people!!

I could go on and on.  I never want to take what God is doing in my life and at Freedom for granted.  He’s blessed me in incredible ways.  I just had to take a moment and say ‘thanks’!

1.  I am still trying to wrap my mind around what happened yesterday.  It was un-freakin-believable!

2.  We had our biggest crowd…by far.  We also had 10+ people Accept Christ.

3.  I’ve never seen people more excited about coming to church.

4.  I’ve never been more proud of my church than yesterday.  We brought our ‘A’ game!  Every area exceeded expectations.

5.  I know that every church says this, but our partners are the greatest.  Yep, I’m publicly declaring that our partners can beat up your volunteers!

6.  We have ramped up security over the past few weeks and those guys are doing a great job of making Freedom Church a safe place for everyone.

7.  Did I say that our partners are amazing?  There is no way that we could accomplish what we do without them!

8.  Freedom Church was recently featured in an article in the AJC.  Check it here.

9.  I got so pumped up yesterday reading blogs, receiving text messages, and talking with people about what God was doing all over the country.

10.  Some additional thoughts about the day can be found here.

Easter Sunday

This Sunday is generally regarded as the biggest Sunday on the calendar for churches.  Most churches will pull out all the stops (whatever that means).  They will spend tons of money to do things that they wouldn’t normally do.

That’s not our approach at Freedom.  While we recognize that Easter Sunday is a special day, we don’t go overboard trying to add a million different elements that we wouldn’t normally see on the other 51 Sundays.  We feel like every single Sunday should be huge.  We go all out every Sunday of the year.  We don’t even know what it means to go half speed.

Why in the world would you want to keep something in your back pocket when there are people out there that are far from God?

Full of It

I know I say this all the time, but you do not want to miss Easter Sunday at Freedom.  It is going to be unbelievable!  I just got out of a meeting where I got a peek at what is going to go down.  Prepare to have your mind blown!

We will also be kicking off a new series called, ‘Full of It’.  What to see what ‘it’ we’re full of?  Come and see!

1.  The Acworth Egg Drop was amazing.  Seeing the looks on the kids faces as the helicopter dropped the eggs was priceless!

2.  Our partners freakin’ rock!  They helped us to pull of the event without a hitch.

3.  Joni did a great job organizing the event.  She knows how to rally people and is EXTREMELY organized.  She did a great job!  I am a little partial though:)

4.  My sister and her boyfriend were in town this weekend.  We had a good time hanging out with them at Elevation Chophouse and at Atlantic Station.

5.  Sunday morning was incredible.  Pastor J.R. challenged Freedom in a big way to go after this community.  Plus, we had people accept Christ.  That NEVER gets old!

6.  I got to cut grass for the first time this year:(

In 2 days, the Acworth Egg Drop is going down.  You won’t want to miss out as we drop thousands of eggs from a helicopter.  Yes, I said a helicopter!

There will be 25,000 candy filled eggs, easter bunnies, plenty of Freedom Church partners and a helicopter.  Why?  Just for you and your kids.

Come hang out… you’ll have more fun than you could ever imagine!
