Memorial Day Weekend Recap

1.  Played a little golf on Friday for the first time in 3 years.  I felt good about how I hit the ball.  Going to play again this Friday!

2.  Hung out with some great Freedom partners on Friday night.

3.  Joni’s parents called and asked if they could take the kids for a couple of days.  I had to think about that for a total of .0004 seconds.  It was nice just to hang out with Joni without the kids for a couple of days.  Thanks David and Brenda!

4.  Went up to Oakleaf on Saturday night.  Their new building is awesome!  They are doing a great job of reaching people in Cartersville that are far from God!!

5.  Also watched the UFC fight Saturday night.  It was a good card.  Highlight of the night was watching this guy(who was there by himself) go crazy when Rashad Evans got knocked out.  I’ve never seen someone so excited!

6.  Sunday was a great day at Freedom!  My pastor took a much deserved and needed Sunday off.

7.  Sunday night, Joni and I went to dinner.  We were home by 9:30, despite the fact we didn’t have our kids to worry about.  Does this mean we are getting old?

8.  I spent most of Memorial Day cleaning our carpets and doing some other small things around the house.  We rearranged some furniture.  Brayden wanted to know when we were going to put the stuff back where it belongs.

9.  On Sunday morning, Brayden freaked out when he found out he couldn’t go to Freedom.  He was seriously upset!  Part of me wanted to spank him for causing a scene.  However, the other part of me was proud of him for loving Freedom so much!

10.  I bought more clothes this weekend than I ever have at one time for myself.  11 shirts.  1 pair of shorts.  1 pair of jeans.  And a pair of swimming trunks.

Having Brayden and Anniston with us for the weekend filled our days with laughter and joy and we needed that so much! :-)

To say that Brayden freaked out about Freedom is an understatement! He literally lost it when he was told he wasn’t going there. He cried so hard that he had to stay home with Papa and Anniston while I went alone so that I could greet!

Like you, I was disappointed that we didn’t get to take them with us to church, but I was quite proud of his desire to be in his own church. No doubt about it, he gets his passion from his parents!

Thank you for sharing them with us for the weekend!
