As I was driving my car last Monday, my transmission was slipping badly. I checked the fluid and found that there was none. So, I added some.
The very next day, Joni was driving that car and it stalled on her. It would start but would not move at all. I was very frustrated to say the least. I ended up having to have the car towed, which cost me $75 for them to take it less than a mile. I was sure that my transmission was gone.
The mechanic came and looked it over. He told me that he would have to come back because he wasn’t sure what was going on with the car because it didn’t have any fuel pressure. On Saturday, I finished cutting grass and had a little gas left over. I decided to give it a shot. I put the gas in the car and it started right up!
It seems that I have a hole in my fuel pick-up line, which is the reason the gas light didn’t come on. Needless to say I was really excited about my car not being dead. However, I do feel like an idiot!
Car Maintenance Lesson #1: Apparently you have to put gas in your car!
